Terms & Conditions

  1. The prices listed are for one days’ hire, which covers 3 days (e.g. delivery, your event, collection). Longer hire periods can be quoted for.

  2. All items remain the property of Delight at all times.

  3. We will deliver and collect orders over £100 free of charge within 5 miles of Stroud, we are happy to deliver elsewhere and will quote on request.

  4. To secure your order we require a 25% deposit. The balance is due on or before delivery. For orders made less than 30 days before an event, a deposit of 50% is required.

  5. Cancellation charges of 25% within 30 days or 100% with 14 days of the hire date will apply. Cancellation must be made by letter or e-mail and any outstanding payment settled within 30 days of cancellation. Order requirements must be finalised 7 days prior to the hire date. Order alterations within this period will be charged at original invoice price if less than original invoice. Additional items will be charged at normal hire prices, with the exception of tablecloths that will incur additional charges of £2.00 per item.

  6. Due to the nature of vintage items, there may be signs of wear, such as to gilt, but there will be no chips or cracks to the china.

  7. All items hired from the Delight remain the responsibility of the hirer, including if left at other premises, until return or collection. This includes loss or breakages.

  8. A damage deposit of £50.00 is required by separate cheque, on delivery of the items, and will be returned when all items have been returned and checked. In the event of items of china being broken or damaged these must be returned to Delight wrapped in paper, glass items should be carefully disposed of. Each small item will be charged at £5 (cups, saucers and small plates).  Sugar bowls and jugs at £7, cake plates £8.00, cake stands £15 and teapots £20, vintage cutlery £2 per item and tablecloths £10.00. Missing china items (which have not been returned broken) will be charged at £10 per item and £25 for teapots – this is because the value of some items is higher than others. If using candles on tables laid with delight table cloths please ensure they are in appropriate holders, scorch marks will incur damage charges.

  9. Delight will accept no responsibility in the event of any injury or damages caused by the hire equipment.

  10. Delight will do the washing up for free but please scrape plates, empty sugar bowls and teapots before re-packing or a cleaning surcharge may apply. Also please wrap teapots and lids separately to avoid breakages in transportation.
